Thy Will be Done - Yes, in this too!
Ah my Darling – how tired you are
trying to figure out the will of God.
Be of light mind – take the load off and stop pacing.
There has been a time gap in these postings. It is a time gap that outwardly mirrors an opening up of the ground under my feet in a sudden and painful personal life crisis. It was, and is, an opening up of dark chasms and hidden caverns where the prayer ‘may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’ echoes off surfaces so newly exposed. Thy will be done on earth – yes, in this too! And so it is with greater need and urgency that I have reflected on some of the spiritual writings. For instance the great
French Jesuit teacher Jean Pierre Caussade who says this:
'The Divine will is an abyss, the opening of which is the present moment. Plunge into it. If we are able to envisage each moment as the manifestation of the will of God, we shall find in it all that our hearts can desire.’
It is also with greater willingness I listen to inner voices speaking in my own heart:
Ah my Darling – how tired you are
trying to figure out the will of God.
Be of light mind– take the load off and stop pacing.
Drop your puzzled mind into your heart
to fall softer than soft, a fowl feather
already surrendered to ground
a mere speckled fluff on breath
lifting, turning and rising again.
-
Be terribly kind and unfailingly curious
with every wanting and not wanting
waging war right now in your mind .
Listen with them - but take them lightly.
-
But most of all Dear One, unburden yourself.
It’s more simple to be awake in this particular dark and day.
It’s more simple to give thanks for wisdom already here! Now!
and in so doing, gratitude is a simpler means of earthing heaven.
Yes - in this too!
